When I first made the blog and an Instagram account to go with it, I started following HUNDREDS of running accounts; runners, marathon events, you name it.

When I’d go through my feed I’d see these avid marathoners or ultra runners posting pictures with their stats from their latest run. 6+miles and always below an 8 min/mile pace.

My immediate reaction was… Well I’m never going to be posting anything close to that (because I know I’m not running for speed…I’m being realistic let’s just get me the distance)

So I was thinking.. oh I’ll just wait until I’m running further distances and then I’ll start sharing my stats.. it’s ok if it’s slow as long as it’s a good distance.

Well what’s a good distance??? For some people just running a single mile is an accomplishment. So why was I hesitant to show off my 2 mile 9min/mile pace? Isn’t that something to be proud of? Hey I ran today as opposed to sitting on the couch like I usually do at home.

It’s not about how fast you can run the distance. It’s about just running and completing the distance.

No matter what.. a 12 minute mile vs a 6 minute mile, it is still a mile.
